English: From the Apocalypse in a Biblia Pauperum illuminated at Erfurt around the time of the Great Famine of 1315–1317. Death ("Mors") sits astride a lion whose long tail ends in a ball of flame (Hell). Famine ("Fames") points to her hungry mouth.
Русский: Изображение ада и голода в книге Апокалипсиса рукописной Библии для бедных (Biblia Pauperum), вышедшей в Эрфурте в годы Великого голода (1315–1317). Смерть (Mors) восседает верхом на царственном льве, чей длинный хвост заканчивается головой зверя Апокалипсиса (Ад). Персонифицированное в римской традиции изображение голода (Fames) представлено в виде измождённой бледной женщины с всклокоченными волосами, указующей на свой голодный рот. |
